Partners in innovation
Making progress in medical imaging is Guerbet's core business and this means rapidly selecting the most promising compounds and accelerating their development. The success of our R&D operations relies on high-performance networking which we are continually strengthening by top-level partnerships in France and abroad.
Today, our researchers are working with some 100 partners worldwide and we are conducting collaborative studies with biotechnology companies, universities and pharmaceutical and industrial corporations.
Guerbet is involved in many collaborative research projects conducted by high level scientific networks:
• Iseult: a Franco-German project, in collaboration with NeuroSpin center from CEA (Commissariat à l'Energie Atomique), University of Fribourg, Siemens Medical Systems and Brucker. Iseult seeks to develop new contrast agents for high-resolution MR imaging of brain illnesses (Alzheimer, stroke, brain tumours)
• IMAKinib and Gallimed : collaborative projects, which involved Guerbet, on the development of tumor biomarkers
• In Actio and Nanogalenic as part of the Medicen Paris Région Competitive Cluster
• Meditrans, NAD, Bonsaï and Strokemap (6th and 7th PCRD-Pan-European projects).
• Nano-Bio-Imaging and Inflam with the National Research Agency,
Molecular imaging: great promise for the future
Molecular imaging opens up perspectives for the diagnosis and treatment of major disorders such as cancers and cardiovascular, inflammatory and neurodegenerative diseases.
To fully realize its potential, we are mobilizing all the relevant scientific disciplines and are intensifying our innovative efforts. Our researchers are working closely with public and private sector partners at all steps in the R&D process: chemical synthesis, biology, experimental imaging, toxicology, pharmacokinetics and clinical testing.
