The theme of International Women’s Day 2020, celebrated on March 8, was “I am Generation Equality: Realizing Women’s Rights.” A theme that suits Guerbet well because, as Petra Zalabak explains, the company is taking various actions to promote a culture of gender equality.
A culture of equality to encourage for example diversity of talent, including female talent, with the aim of increasing the number of women in senior management positions. At the end of 2019, Guerbet employees counted 43% of women for 57% men, although just 34% of senior management positions were held by women. This figure marks a progression of 4% on the previous year and is expected to improve yet further because the company has set itself a target of 36% women in senior management by 2022. It is also aiming for more than 30% of women in its Executive Committee.
This gender equality culture is supported by our human resources policy, which promotes diversity and non-discrimination. Guerbet makes hiring and compensation decisions based on objective expertise, know-how and interpersonal skills criteria, regardless of gender, age, marital status, sexual orientation, disability and national or ethnic origin. The company considers team diversity to be a quality, a driver of performance, innovation and creativity.
