The Institut Choiseul, a gold standard for public debate
The nonprofit Institut Choiseul is an independent, non-partisan think tank. It analyzes major economic issues and fosters cohesion among the young movers and shakers of France’s economy. Their publications include the Ville de demain ranking for the real estate sector, the Sport & Business ranking, and the Nouveaux conquérants de l’économie française ranking which recognizes the new driving forces of the French economy.
The Institut Choiseul produces strategic reports, surveys, and young leader rankings, such as the Choiseul 100 which identifies the most promising young leaders set to play a key role in the French economy through their work and expertise, all of which fuel public debate and paint a picture of the current economic playing field. The Institut Choiseul organizes elite gatherings with input from industry professionals and experts, where its community of high flyers can network and join forces to address future-focused matters. These events encompass various regions and focus on economic sectors such as real estate, sport and business, and innovative businesses that are driving economic growth in France, Europe, and Africa.
Guerbet listed in the Fleurons de l’innovation category
The Institut Choiseul has been publishing its Choiseul Conquérants report in partnership with La Tribune newspaper since 2019, ranking 200 mid-sized companies that demonstrate excellence and contribute to the visibility of the French economy.
The fourth publication of the list has five categories:
Les ambassadeurs du capital humain (Human capital ambassadors)
Les fleurons de l’innovation (Pioneers of innovation)
Les étendards de l’excellence française (Standard bearers of French excellence)
Les fers de lance de l’autonomie stratégique (Driving forces of strategic autonomy)
Les artisans de la transformation durable (Artisans of sustainable transformation)
Guerbet is delighted to feature among Les fleurons de l’innovation alongside some of the biggest names in health care in France and beyond. The company has appeared in every publication since the ranking was introduced in 2019.
According to the Institut Choiseul: “Innovation is what makes mid-sized companies – major players in research and development – stand out from the competition. With their ability to develop cutting-edge technologies and industry-specific solutions, these companies bolster France’s competitiveness and capitalize on the cachet of French companies.”
About the Choiseul Conquérants list
The Institut Choiseul independently prepared the Choiseul Conquérants 2023 list between July and November 2023. It ranks 200 companies from various regions into five categories of 40 companies each. The companies were selected using a rigorous method with a matrix of criteria for each category.
Companies had to meet certain conditions:
- Generate turnover of between €50 million and €3 billion
- Actively contribute to the French economy
- Operate in an innovative and sustainable manner
- Help to boost France’s competitiveness abroad
A wide set of objective criteria and indicators was used to class the companies into five categories reflecting the main assets and characteristics of businesses that have conquered their field, demonstrating:
- A people-first employment focus
- Consideration of environmental concerns
- A drive to boost national competitiveness through innovation
- A strong international perspective
- A contribution to national economic sovereignty
